The Ames Foundation serves as the catalyst for the identification and execution of projects that enhance the quality of life and create a greater sense of community among citizens.
The Foundation also connects resources with projects in cooperation with public agencies, civic organizations, private entities and individuals.
For more than 30 years, The Ames Foundation has sought out and raised money for both large and small projects to enhance the city including:
• Restoration of the historic Band Shell Park
• Custodian for gifts for the Veterans Memorial
and Ames Dog Park
When supporting the Ames Foundation or setting up a donor-advised fund, you may be able to receive an additional 25% tax credit from the State of Iowa. With a donor-advised fund, you are able to make a distribution each year to various Iowa charities you are interested in supporting, including The Ames Foundation.
